This 1-minute trailer, produced by Ryan, introduces “When the Salmon Spoke”, a 2020 digital production featuring cinematic imagery, indigenous music and visual art, and captivating life stories from community members of the Stikine River. The project connects coastal Tlingit and Haida communities and inland Tahltan communities of Alaska and British Columbia. A/LIVE INSIDE was a 2020 production of the University of Denver Prison Arts Initiative, featuring work and voices from inside prisons across Colorado. The production included five Historical Moments, created and produced by Ryan Conarro in collaboration with incarcerated collaborators. Each Historical Moment illuminates a time in American carceral history when art and storytelling surfaced as a way for people in prison to hold on to and insist upon their own humanity.
